Our After School Students Develop and Strengthen Reading Skills

Our Story

In 2001, with the support of then Boston Mayor Menino, Wingate Management opened the Operation P.E.A.C.E. Learning Center at its Peterborough Street housing location in Boston's Fenway community.

Seeing the need to serve under-resourced families and immigrant populations, Operation P.E.A.C.E. provides educational courses, youth programs and enrichment services to the residents of Boston's Fenway and Dorchester neighborhoods.

History

Operation P.E.A.C.E. was founded in 1995 in the Village of Bedford Pine, Atlanta, when thirty-three concerned college students united to help children escape from the crime and drugs that plagued their community. With the financial support of Wingate Companies LLC, and the leadership of then Executive Director Edna Moffit, these college students (and volunteers from Wingate's staff) joined forces to convert an old laundry room into a computer-learning center!

Our Partners

Operation P.E.A.C.E. is made possible through the vision and generosity of the Schuster family, the Continental Wingate Family of Companies and our community partners listed below. Operation P.E.A.C.E. is grateful to all of our supporters for their commitment to us as we provide free education programs for low-income families living in subsidized housing.
