Operation P.E.A.C.E. Boston

OUR MISSION

Our mission at Operation P.E.A.C.E. Boston is to empower the youth, families, 
and seniors in our communities by offering a mix of social, education, and technology resources. 

We saw a need to serve under-resourced families and immigrant populations, through 

educational courses, youth programming, and enrichment services to the residents of 
Boston’s Fenway and Dorchester neighborhoods. Through the engagement and support 
of our community the gathering spaces and people that make up Operation P.E.A.C.E. 
today allow us to uphold our mission. 

HISTORY

Operation P.E.A.C.E. was founded in 1995 in the Village of Bedford Pine, Atlanta when thirty-three concerned college students united to help children find relief from the crime and drugs that plagued their community. With the financial support of Wingate Companies LLC, and the leadership of then Executive Director Edna Moffit, these college students (and volunteers from Wingate’s staff) joined forces to convert an old laundry room into a computer-learning center!

 In 2001, with the support of Boston Mayor Menino, Wingate Management opened Operation P.E.A.C.E. at its Peterborough Street housing location in Boston’s Fenway community. In November 2013, Operation P.E.A.C.E. Boston expanded into the Codman Square area of Dorchester, offering After School and Summer Academy programs to neighborhood youth.
